A small packet of loose photos, labelled ‘Ratlinghope 1899’ exists among the box of Downing archives.
These contain the earliest photo of Ratlinghope Manor House, probably with a ten-year old Noel Downing standing outside. They were all probably taken by Mary Downing, who we know had a hand-held camera at that date.
